Francesco Beltrame was born on September, the 11th, 1953 in Genoa, Italy.
Classical High School Degree at Liceo D’Oria of Genoa, Italy, in 1971 (60/60).
Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering at the University of Genoa, Italy, in 1977 (110/110 cum laude).
Visiting Scientist at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, from 1977 to 1979.
Since 2003 full professor of Bioengineering at the School of Engineering of the University of Genoa, Italy.
Italian delegate of the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) in the the IInd, IIIrd, IVth and VIth Framework Programmes of the European Union (UE) in the ICT area.
Since 1996, evaluator of industrial research proposals for MIUR (FAR) and for MAP (FIT).
Since 1996 till 2002, delegate of MIUR at the OECD.
Since 2004 till 2006 member of the FIRB (Basic Research Funding) Committee of the MIUR. Since 2005 President of the Technical and Scientific Committee of MIUR for Industrial Research (law 297/99).
Since 2006, Director of the ICT Department of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR).
Since 2007 member of the CT/46 Committee of the Ministry for Economic Development of Italy and member of the Italian High Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Communication.
Author of more than 200 scientific publications on scientific journals, books and proceedings of international and national meetings and of one industrial patent.
